Go and price the changes you want to make and write them down then work out how much it is going to cost. Only if the cost is going to make, or save you money, should you go ahead with the remodeling. However, even with this in mind, aesthetic changes might not drastically improve the value of your house but might still be desirable if you have a big enough budget.
